Dr. Robert Ochieng

Dr. Robert Ochola is a distinguished executive, strategist and board leader, with more than 29 years of experience across financial services, telecommunications, digital innovation and development finance in Africa and the Middle East. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AfricaNenda, a pan-African organisation established to accelerate the development of instant and inclusive payment systems across the continent.

Prior to joining AfricaNenda as CEO, Robert served as the Director of Strategy and Innovation at Afreximbank, served as Head of Strategy with Safaricom, and was the Director of Strategy, Research and Innovation at the KCB Bank Group.

He brings extensive expertise in financial services strategy, governance, digital transformation and stakeholder engagement, together with a proven track record of delivering sustainable impact across the African continent.

He is an alumnus of Imperial College London (BEng., MEng., DIC.), Warwick Business School (MBA), and the University of Cape Town (PhD Eng.). He also successfully completed executive programmes at INSEAD and Harvard Business School.
